Instructions for new shooters below:
Registration with the NZCTA is a two-tiered registration process. Individuals must be a member of a NZCTA club. This can be your local club or any club that you choose.
The NZCTA requires an application form (click the link below) to be filled in and returned. Payment can be made via internet banking. Please put the shooters name as a bank reference and mark on the application form the date of payment. The registration application form must be either emailed or posted to the NZCTA. Please ensure the details are legible and clearly written.
Once the form and payment are received your application will be processed. Your handicap book will be sent to your nominated club for collection at your convenience. You must take your handicap book to all competitions where your scores are recorded. The scores are added in lots of 200 targets and a percentage is recorded. This percentage dictates what grade you are shooting in. The graded system ensures that shooters are competing against people of like ability. All new shooters start in C grade.
Our membership year runs from 1 January to 31 December. Once you are a member you will receive an invoice around the beginning of November for the following year. You have until the end of January to pay this, then you are not financial and should not compete.
If you are unsure of the process or the fees to pay contact the National Office (nzcta@xtra.co.nz).
