2010 Skeet Nationals Adrienne Sears 2010-06-03 10:03
Reply from Dean Everett, President, Waikato Clay Target Club:

Regarding Sub Gauge events at 2010 New Zealand Skeet Nationals to be held at Waikato Clay Target Club from 23th Nov 28th Nov 2010.

The program for NZ National Championships is set by NZCTA council and consists of 20g National Championship on Wed, a 100 tgt Skeet Nth Sth qualifying on Thurs, National Handicap Championship on Fri, National Skeet on Sat, and National Doubles on Sun.

Host clubs determine any other events that they choose to run prior to Nationals starting.

This year at Waikato Clay Target Club, we are working with Thames Clay Target Club who will be hosting an Sub Gauge extravaganza, including all sub gauge events, on the weekend prior to the Nationals starting. Waikato Clay Target Club will then have two trophy matches on Tuesday which will be 50 targets 20g Skeet Trophy, which we see as an eye opener for the National Championship the following day, plus a 50 target Doubles trophy event you can never have enough doubles.

Some of the thought about having 20g and Doubles is that most shooters are able to participate in this event, we are considering Australians travelling across to compete in our events, and want to give them maximum opportunity to compete on Waikato Clay Target grounds.

Thames Clay Target Club has just become registered as a NSSA ground, so any targets shot in sub gauges there will be able to be registered with NSSA, this was seen to be the best solution for promoting Sub gauge events and sharing the load of running major events.

Look forward to seeing you at Waikato Clay Target Club, please be early as entry could be limited due to time constraints.

Sporting Nationals Albie Hanson 2007-02-22 21:01
congratulations to the three juniors Brian, Lewis and Adam and their fantastic result at the Nationals in Alexander over the weekend. for all three to take 1st, 2nd & 3rd in AA grade was an incredible result when you consider the overseas competition attending. It would seem again these young men have moved up another level. I am sure all three are capable of footing it with the best juniors in the world. "Well Done"

Fully agree with Craig as will most others. Would like to see between 15 and 20 metres staging area when possible at anything above a Qualifying shoot. Whack a stick in the ground with wait here on it. It would be self controling, a good time to start this would be at the upcoming shoots in Feb and particulary Oceania's in March.

Perhaps they are all too busy shooting to investigate and use the technology available.

Personally I feel that this is a very valuable tool that the Association has provided. I did not realise this was available until I figured out that the button was actually for a forum.

I shall let our shooters know (those who have the technology) that this forum is here.

Good Luck with the Council.

At the Rakaia 100, I observed a senior shooter who had won a minor prize wait for his name to be called and then walked up, grabbed his prize without stopping or acknowledging the onlookers or the Club without even a sideways glance and virtually did a "runner" for his vehicle and left hastiely. Why do these types bother to attend if they are only there for the prizes? Surely you can only get out what you are prepared to put back!!!!!
